90% of the funds you raise support the issue(s) you care about most. 10% is used to keep our lights on, hire great people and develop more ways to help you support your cause.
Why 90/10?
We want impact - the more money we give in support of the issues, the greater the impact we’ll all have.
It makes us different - from the other internet-fundraisers that give away pennies on the dollar.
We want to lower the cost of fundraising - we don’t ask for any money from our charity partners. We simply give them 90% of what you raise. This helps them be more cost effective.
A shared belief - the BTW team believes the 90/10 is more than fair for all involved - we can rest easy at night by giving away almost everything you raise.
How Much Do Most Fundraiser Give in Support of the Issues?
10% to 50% - most other fundraisers give very little to the issues that they raise money for. This dilutes the impact of your dollar and may harm the charities - by increasing their cost of administration and fundraising.
How Do We (as members) Ensure You Actually Give 90%?
Transparent communication of money raised and given in support of the issues - it’s really important to us to have an open and transparent relationship with everyone involved: you, our charity partners and our corporate sponsors. We plan to openly communicate what is raised and given in support of the issues.
Third Party Validation - we’ve hired a world class auditing firm to sign off on our financial reports. They’re responsible for ensuring we comply with our 90/10 policy and the reports will be provided to our charity partners.
